Rev. James Gallant
Rev. Jimmy Gallant is the pastor and founder of Gallant Evangelistic Ministries and a former Charleston City Council member, where he represented the northwestern neighborhoods of the Charleston peninsula. With a distinguished career in ministry, public service, and community leadership, Rev. Gallant has received local and international recognition for his unwavering commitment to outreach, mentorship, and spiritual guidance.
His calling to minister has led him to serve in youth detention centers, nursing homes, prisons, firehouses, police stations, hospitals, and the streets of inner cities, bringing hope and encouragement to those in need. His work has also taken him beyond the U.S., ministering in Russia, Ghana, Israel, Germany, the Caribbean Islands, and numerous international cities.
Beyond his ministerial work, Rev. Gallant has held leadership roles on various advisory boards, task forces, committees, and commissions, helping to shape community initiatives and social programs. He currently serves as a Police Chaplain, providing spiritual support and guidance to law enforcement officers, and sits on the Board of Directors for Beacon Community Bank, where he contributes his leadership and vision to support local businesses and economic growth.
Rev. Gallant holds a Master’s Degree in Theology from Gulf Coast Seminary and an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity from Cathedral Bible College. He is married and has one son.
